Founder and Executive Director

Mrs. Rosamond Luke is the Founder and Executive Director of AWEDA - All Women’s Empowerment and Development Association.

Born and raised in Freetown, Sierra Leone to entrepreneur parents, Rosamond arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia on October 30, 1982. Her arrival was initially intended to be a twelve-month stay, however she eventually settled here and raised a family of three children.

Mrs. Luke is an active “philanthropreneur” who believes in contributing to the community through the development of social enterprises.

Mrs. Luke holds a Certificate in Marketing, two Bachelors’ degrees in Business Administration and Arts, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management.
